11/14/2024 8:00:00 PM

Box Score Chickasha, Okla. - Southwestern Christian University took on the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers tonight to begin Sooner Athletic Conference competition. The match ended 52 - 66, with the Drovers coming out on top. SCU's offensive struggles throughout the start of the year continued in the loss, as the Eagles were only able to shoot 25% from the field and 22% from beyond the arc.

Southwestern Christian fell behind early after a 24 point first quarter from the Drovers, but played the next three extremely close. Delaney Reimer and Kennedy Allison tied for the team lead in points with 12, with Reimer throwing up a pair of threes and Allison knocking down four from the field. SCU took more free throws than the Drovers, with Reimer grabbing four points and Allison grabbing three from the line. Chrissen Harlan led SCU in offensive rebounds while putting up 11 points of her own, and Whitney Wade gave the Eagles 8 off the bench. Harlan led SCU in blocks with two, while Jayden Mason grabbed 3 steals, but SCU could not keep up with the more efficient Drovers offense, despite the Drovers turnovers they caused throughout the contest.
