BETHANY, Okla.-- Today's student-athlete spotlight features a pair of track & field freshmen who put together great first seasons with the Eagles. Next on the list, Kelsey Drapeau!
Kelsey is out of Elgin, Oklahoma where she competed in high school. Drapeau is a state champion in the long jump, having won the Oklahoma 5A long jump in 2019 with a jump of over 17 feet.
Joining the Eagle track team in the fall of 2019, Drapeau continued to excel on the track. At the NCCAA Indoor Championships meet, Kelsey collected three top-5 finishes. As a member of the 4x2 and 4x4 relay teams, she earned 4th and 5th place finish, respectively. Individually, she continued to shine in the long jump, leaping a season best 16' 6" on her way to a 3rd place finish in the long jump. That mark would be just a couple of inches shy of the school record, 16' 9".
Drapeau's 3rd place finish at the national meet earned her a spot on the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field All-American team.
