OKLAHOMA CITY — Southwestern Christian University golf programs competed at the Kyle Blaser Invite at Gaillardia Country Club, with the men's team turning in a strong fourth-place finish while the women placed eighth against a competitive field.
Women's Recap: Eagles Gain Experience in Tough Field
The SCU women's team finished eighth out of eight teams, battling through a challenging two-round tournament against several top NAIA programs.
Victoria Wiedel led the Eagles with a steady performance, while teammates Katie Moore, Emily Shelton, and Taylor Frazier rounded out the lineup and contributed to the team score.
Despite the finish, the Eagles faced a high level of competition, with multiple nationally recognized players near the top of the leaderboard. The event provided valuable experience as SCU continues to develop throughout the season.
Men's Recap: SCU Finishes 4th in Six-Team Field
On the men's side, the Eagles delivered a solid showing, finishing fourth out of six teams.
Dawson Branstetter led SCU with one of the team's top finishes, posting a strong two-round score to stay competitive near the top half of the leaderboard.
He was supported by contributions from Caden Stevens, Andrea Matlega, Matthew King, and Carter Jarrett, as the Eagles remained competitive throughout both rounds.
The men's tournament featured several standout individual performances, including top finishes from Oklahoma City and MidAmerica Nazarene players, highlighting the depth of the field SCU competed against.
