Southwestern Christian University took down the College of the Ozarks Bobcats today, winning two games and sweeping the non-conference matchup.

Game 1: SCU 7 - 4 CofO

Game 1 was a pitcher's duel for the first few innings, but a three-run inning from SCU kicked off the scoring. With bases loaded, Dario Paredes hit into a fielder's choice, allowing one run to score, and a timely error meant a second run soon followed. Matys Gagnon then singled, scoring a run, and SCU went into the fourth with a three-run lead. The Bobcats would battle back and take the lead, but Braden Browning's 2 RBI single cut back into the lead and forced an error from the Bobcat defense, which scored a third run on the same play. Zane Bandfield would score Browning, and from there, it was all SCU to the end of the contest. Zach Gaudreau would be awarded the win, only allowing one hit in his appearance, and striking out one as well.

On the back of a one-hit outing from Ariel Tejada, the Eagles did not have much trouble dispatching the College of the Ozarks in Game 2. The starter for the Eagles went the full seven innings and struck out eight en route to his win. A wild pitch allowed SCU to get the lead in the first, but it would not be until the fifth that the Eagles would score again. Dario Paredes smacked an RBI double into left field, pushing the SCU lead to two. In the next inning, Jake Cox and Draike Sparks would both find RBI singles to tack on a run each. With the Eagles now well in the lead, it was no issue for Tejada to put away the Bobcats for good.
