BETHANY, Okla. — Southwestern Christian University women's soccer continued its unbeaten start to the season Sunday afternoon, earning a commanding 7-1 victory over the University of the Ozarks at home.

The Eagles wasted little time finding the scoreboard. Abbigail Johnson opened the scoring in the third minute, recording her fifth goal of the season.

SCU added two more goals before halftime. Rachel Slaven scored in the 17th minute off an assist from Johnson, while Alexandrea Villalobos found the back of the net in the 26th minute following an assist from Alyssa Harvey. The Eagles took a 3-0 lead before Ozarks scored late in the first half to make it 3-1 at the break.

Johnson struck again early in the second half, scoring her sixth goal of the season in the 49th minute with an assist from Aven DeFalco. Slaven added her second goal of the afternoon in the 61st minute, assisted by Sofia Jimenez, pushing the SCU lead to 5-1.

The Eagles continued to pour on the pressure late in the match. Shosona Graham scored in the 83rd minute for her fourth goal of the season, and Maddie Krone followed just over a minute later with her first goal of the season to complete the 7-1 victory.

SCU controlled the offensive action throughout the match, finishing with 25 shots, including 16 on goal, compared to just five shots from Ozarks. The Eagles also held a 9-2 advantage in saves and controlled possession in the attacking third for much of the contest.

Johnson led the Eagles with two goals and an assist, while Slaven added two goals. Graham, Krone and Villalobos each contributed a goal, with DeFalco, Harvey, Jimenez and Johnson recording assists.

Lorelai Puglisi started in goal and recorded one save while allowing one goal in nearly 68 minutes of action. DeFalco finished the match in goal and recorded one save while helping preserve the Eagles' strong second-half defensive effort.

With the win, Southwestern Christian improves to 4-0-1 on the season.
