BETHANY, Okla. — Southwestern Christian University men's soccer continued its strong start to the season Saturday, Sept. 12, earning a dominant 4-0 victory over Southwestern at home.

The Eagles wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, taking a 1-0 lead just 25 seconds into the match. Charles Jones found the back of the net off an assist from Curtis Clarke to give SCU the early advantage.

SCU added to its lead in the fifth minute when Lucas Giacomini scored his third goal of the season, with Gabin Desplats providing the assist. Just over six minutes later, Clarke scored his sixth goal of the season off an assist from Marcos Arranz, giving the Eagles a 3-0 advantage.

SCU carried the three-goal lead into halftime and continued to control the match throughout the second half. The Eagles recorded 20 shots, including 10 on goal, while holding Southwestern to just one shot.

Nicolas Falco capped the scoring in the 79th minute, scoring his second goal of the season off an assist from Lucas Ellis to make it 4-0.

Goalkeeper Axel Tricot played all 90 minutes in goal for SCU and recorded one save while earning the shutout.

Clarke led the Eagles with three shots and finished with a goal and an assist. Alessio Purnelle also recorded three shots, including two on goal. Falco finished with three shots and a goal, while Jones and Giacomini each added a goal.

SCU also held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.

With the victory, Southwestern Christian improves to 4-0-0 on the season.
