SCU Softball Dominates Langston in Four-Game Sweep, Celebrates Senior Day with Statement Wins

Game 1: SCU Sets the Tone with 7-2 Win

Southwestern Christian opened the series with a strong 7-2 victory behind a balanced offensive attack and a complete-game effort from Jessica Czikra.

SCU tallied 10 hits, led by Hannah Keele, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Trinity Norwood added three hits and two RBIs, while Kylee Coy chipped in with two hits and two RBIs.

After giving up an early run, the Eagles quickly responded with two runs in the first inning and never trailed again. Czikra controlled the game in the circle, allowing just two runs on six hits while going the distance.

Game 2: Late-Inning Heroics Secure 4-3 Comeback

Game two proved to be the most dramatic of the series, as SCU rallied late to secure a 4-3 win.

Trailing 3-2 entering the sixth inning, the Eagles chipped away before completing the comeback in the seventh. Ebony Garza led the offense with a 3-for-3 performance, including a triple and an RBI.

Macey Weger earned the win in the circle, tossing a complete game while limiting Langston to just one earned run despite eight hits.

Game 3 (Senior Day): SCU Rallies for 5-4 Victory

On Senior Day, SCU delivered in front of the home crowd with a gritty 5-4 comeback win.

After falling behind early, the Eagles exploded for four runs in the fifth inning to take control. The offense was fueled by timely hitting, including contributions from Danielle Burleson and Jessie Moralez, while Hannah Keele continued her strong weekend at the plate.

Jessica Czikra once again played a key role, coming in relief and shutting down Langston over the final five innings to secure the win.

Game 4 (Senior Day): Pitching and Defense Seal the Sweep

The Eagles closed out the sweep with a 4-1 victory, completing the perfect weekend in front of their seniors.

SCU capitalized on early opportunities, scoring three runs in the second inning to take control. Danielle Burleson delivered a key two-RBI single, while Hannah Keele led the way with a 4-for-4 performance at the plate.

Lainey King earned the win with five solid innings, and Macey Weger came in to record the save, sealing the series sweep.

Series Takeaways

Southwestern Christian's sweep was powered by consistent production from the top of the lineup, especially Keele, Garza, and Norwood, along with strong pitching performances from Czikra, Weger, and King.

The Eagles combined for:

  • 20 runs across four games
  • Consistent late-game execution
  • Multiple complete-game pitching performances

Most importantly, SCU rose to the occasion on Senior Day, delivering two hard-fought wins to celebrate their upperclassmen in style.

With momentum on their side, the Eagles look to carry this performance into the next stretch of conference play.
