Southwestern Christian women's basketball battled to the final buzzer but came up just short in a 74–73 loss to Nelson on Friday afternoon in Bethany, Oklahoma.
Kaydrin Scott led the Eagles with a game-high 25 points, attacking the paint throughout the contest and keeping SCU within striking distance. Jayden Mason added 12 points and knocked down key perimeter shots, while Carmella Jefferson scored 10 points off the bench, including clutch free throws late in the game.
Chrissen Harland contributed seven points, and Brooke Robertson chipped in six, providing important minutes on both ends of the floor. Taylor Meyners added five points, while Alexus Roberson and Shak Gladness helped with ball movement and defense.
Southwestern Christian finished strong with a 26-point fourth quarter, nearly completing a comeback before time expired. The Eagles will look to carry the momentum forward as conference play continues.
