BETHANY, Okla. — The men's basketball team at Southwestern Christian University came within inches of a dramatic comeback Wednesday night, but ultimately fell 76–75 to Oklahoma Panhandle State University in a tightly contested SAC matchup.
Southwestern Christian trailed 40–37 at halftime before mounting a strong second-half push, outscoring the Aggies 38–36 after the break. The Eagles shot efficiently in the final 20 minutes, hitting 64 percent from the field and knocking down five three-pointers to keep constant pressure on OPSU.
Junior guard Jalen Goar led all scorers with 24 points, drilling six three-pointers and adding five assists. JaColby Williams chipped in 14 points and six rebounds, while Dason Cook provided a steady inside presence with 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting.
After OPSU edged ahead by one, Southwestern Christian forced a turnover with 12 seconds remaining, but the Aggies converted a last-second layup to seal the outcome. The Eagles' final look at the buzzer fell short, ending a hard-fought contest that showcased resilience and execution on both ends.
