Southwestern Christian women's basketball battled down to the final possession Thursday night but fell just short in a 67–65 home loss to the University of Science and Arts in a tightly contested conference matchup.
The Eagles stayed within striking distance all game, matching USAO in a physical, back-and-forth contest that featured six lead changes in the second half. SCU trailed by two entering the fourth quarter and had opportunities late, but the Drovers scored at the buzzer to secure the win.
Kaydrin Scott led Southwestern Christian with a game-high 33 points, shooting 14-of-26 from the floor while adding seven rebounds, five assists, and six steals. Chrissen Harland finished with 10 points, while Jayden Mason and Brooke Robertson each contributed six points. Shak Gladness added 10 rebounds to anchor the Eagles inside.
Southwestern Christian forced 18 turnovers and held USAO to just 10 points in the fourth quarter, keeping the game within reach until the final seconds.
The Eagles will look to bounce back as conference play continues.
