Eagles Edge Central Christian in Thrilling Conference Battle

Southwestern Christian University women's basketball earned a hard-fought 60–57 road victory over Central Christian College on Thursday evening, January 8, in Bethany, Oklahoma, improving to 6–9 overall and 5–4 in conference play

The game was tightly contested throughout, with neither team able to pull away. After trailing 33–32 at halftime, the Eagles delivered a strong third quarter, outscoring Central Christian 15–5 to take control of the momentum. SCU's defensive pressure limited the Tigers' scoring opportunities and forced key turnovers during the stretch.

Chloe Clevenger led the Eagles with a team-high 19 points, shooting efficiently from the floor and knocking down four three-pointers. Kylee Jones added 18 points and six rebounds, providing a steady presence in the paint and at the free-throw line. Charmayne Marshall contributed across the stat sheet with six points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.

Central Christian made a late push in the fourth quarter, tying the game in the final seconds, but SCU remained composed at the free-throw line to secure the win. The Eagles finished the game shooting 19-of-27 from the stripe, including clutch makes in the closing moments.

With the victory, Southwestern Christian continues to strengthen its position in conference play, showcasing resilience and execution in close games as the season moves forward.
