Southwestern Christian University earned a hard-fought 1–0 victory over LSU Alexandria on Saturday afternoon, improving their record to 2-1-1 on the season.
The decisive moment came early, as Augustine Mateos scored in the 10th minute, finishing off an assist from Yuki Yabunaka. Despite several opportunities from both sides, neither team was able to find the back of the net again.
The match was physical, with a combined seven yellow cards issued — four to LSU Alexandria and three to Southwestern Christian. Both defenses held firm, and goalkeepers Enzo Camps (SCU) and Ivan Capurro (LSUA) each recorded three saves.
Southwestern Christian tallied nine total shots, four on goal, while LSU Alexandria managed ten shots with three on target. Corner kicks and fouls were nearly even, underscoring the tight nature of the contest.
