Eagles and Aggies faceoff in Goodwell

Goodwell, Okla. -

Game 1

In a back-and-forth opening game, the Eagles fell just short of the Aggies, losing 6-7. The Aggies found the first runs of the day, but a big third inning catapulted SCU into the lead. The Aggies would not go down quietly, however, and after two more lead changes, would walk off the Eagles in the seventh. Jessica Czikra pitched for the Eagles throughout the contest, and was able to get down to the final out of the game before the Aggies ultimately won it. She allowed five earned runs on seven hits, walking two. The Eagles had no extra bases in the match, but Trinity Norwood and Holly Elam would each go 1-4 with an RBI. Jess Moralez, Hannah Keele, and Maliyah Patton each walked and scored at least once, while Payton Leba crossed the plate once as a pinch runner.

Game 2

The Eagles got the win they were looking for in the second seven innings, run-ruling the Aggies in five innings, 12-2. Amassing 11 hits, the game showcased the power of the Eagles' lineup at their best. Three doubles, two triples, and some mistakes on the Aggies' side allowed for SCU to get out to the ten-run lead, with Holly Elam, Lexi Cahwee, and Hannah Keele headlining the offensive performance. Elam was 3-3 with 3 RBIs and a run, Cahwee was 2-2 with 3 RBIs, 2 runs, and a walk, while Keele was 2-3 with 2 runs and a walk. Cahwee had a double and triple, while Keele and Elam knocked a double and triple, respectively. The rest of the Eagles' lineup contributed as well, as players like Kelsie McCollom and Jess Moralez each found an RBI, with Moralez scoring once.

Day 2 marks the final day of the regular season, with the Eagles seeking two wins to take the series in Goodwell. The games are Saturday, April 26th at 12 and 2 PM.
