BETHANY, Okla. — Southwestern Christian men's basketball picked up a hard-fought conference win Thursday night, holding off College of the Ozarks 66–63 in a wire-to-wire battle that came down to the final possession.
Jalen Goar led the Eagles with 18 points, knocking down four three-pointers and delivering several clutch buckets late, including two key layups in the final minutes. Jordun Willard was dominant inside, posting 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Brody Smith added a huge lift off the bench with 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting, while JaColby Williams chipped in eight points and three rebounds.
SCU controlled the first half, taking a 28–19 lead into the break behind strong team defense and efficient scoring in the paint. College of the Ozarks surged back in the second half, briefly grabbing the lead, but the Eagles responded with timely stops and a 9–2 run sparked by Goar and Smith.
Aiden Todd sealed the win at the free-throw line with two late makes, and the Eagles survived a pair of last-second three-point attempts from the Bobcats to secure the victory.
Southwestern Christian moves to 5–4 overall and 3–1 in SAC play, earning momentum heading into their next conference matchup.
