EDMOND, Okla. — Southwestern Christian men's basketball put together a gritty effort Tuesday night but came up short in an 85–71 loss to NCAA Division II opponent Oklahoma Christian.
JaColby Williams led the Eagles with an impressive 18 points, knocking down four threes and providing a spark throughout the night. Elijah Garcia added 10 points off the bench, and Augustine Chibuko delivered an efficient 8-point performance in just eight minutes of action.
Despite trailing 44–31 at halftime, SCU refused to go away. Jordun Willard energized the Eagles with 6 points and a game-high 9 rebounds, helping trim the deficit to as little as 11 in the second half. SCU's bench also stepped up, contributing 37 total points.
Oklahoma Christian controlled the paint and the glass, outrebounding SCU 49–37 and converting 23 free throws to maintain their lead. OC's Miles Gibson and Carson Jones each scored 15 to pace the home team.
