WAXAHACHIE, Texas — Southwestern Christian women's basketball dropped a tough road match-up Wednesday night, falling 83–52 to a hot-shooting Nelson University squad. Nelson opened the game with a barrage of threes and never cooled off, hitting 18 from beyond the arc.
Chrissen Harland led SCU with 11 points, knocking down three triples, while Carmella Jefferson provided a strong spark with 10 points, three assists, and three steals. Summer Fergerson added six fourth-quarter points off the bench, and Brooke Robertson scored nine.
Kaydrin Scott pulled down a team-high seven rebounds, but SCU struggled to find rhythm offensively, shooting 28 percent from the field. Nelson outscored the Eagles 24–5 in the third quarter, creating a deficit too large to overcome.
SCU moves to 6–5 (3–4 SAC) and returns home looking to regroup as conference play continues.
