Southwestern Christian University Eagles battled to a 1–1 draw against Wayland Baptist University Pioneers in its opening pool-play match at the NCCAA National Tournament on Monday in Kissimmee, Florida.

SCU out-shot WBU 12–11 and kept pressure throughout the second half. After conceding in the 25th minute, the Eagles found the equalizer in the 71st when Soshona Graham finished a cross from Sofia Jimenez. Goalkeeper Lorelai Puglisi added four saves as SCU pushed for a late winner.

The Eagles return to the pitch tomorrow with an 11 a.m. pool-play match-up as they continue their bid for a spot in the knockout round.
