BETHANY, Okla. — Southwestern Christian volleyball put together a determined effort in its second-to-last match of the season but came up short against crosstown rival Mid-America Christian, falling in straight sets (25–19, 25–15, 25–19) Friday evening at Pickens-Springer Gym.
The Eagles (2–24, 1–20 SAC) kept the pressure on the Evangels (18–10, 14–7 SAC) early, staying within striking distance throughout the opening set behind strong play at the net from Angeles Tejada, who recorded 10 kills and three blocks.
Megan Graham paced the offense with 13 assists and seven digs, while Brianna DeVries added five kills and Lisa Gomez Lopez served up two aces to spark SCU's scoring runs. Ashlyn Wilkens also provided steady defense in the back row with seven digs.
Though SCU showed energy and improved communication throughout the match, MACU's consistent attack, led by Seyi Atolagbe's 18 kills, made the difference in the final points of each set.
Southwestern Christian will close out its 2025 season with one final home match as the Eagles look to finish strong and carry their momentum into the offseason.
