Drover Fieldhouse — Southwestern Christian men's basketball put together one of its most significant wins in recent years on Saturday evening, defeating USAO 88–82 and securing the program's first victory over the Drovers since 2019. The Eagles improved to 4–2 overall and 2–1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play with the statement road performance.
SCU delivered a balanced, relentless effort, highlighted by a dominant second half in which the Eagles outscored USAO 50–44.
Goar Takes Over
Jalen Goar was electric all night, leading all scorers with 26 points, including four second-half three-pointers that fueled SCU's surge. He finished 9–17 from the field and a perfect 4–4 from the free-throw line.
Willard's Impact Off the Bench
Jordun Willard provided a massive spark, pouring in 19 points on 9–12 shooting while adding nine rebounds. His energy changed the pace of the game, and his fast-break finishes repeatedly halted USAO momentum.
Todd, the Two-Way Anchor
Aiden Todd played one of his most complete games of the season with 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists, including several late-game buckets to keep SCU in front.
Team Resilience
Despite USAO leading by as many as seven in the first half, SCU stayed composed. The Eagles tied the game 38–38 at halftime and went on to control much of the second period, building a 10-point lead with just under seven minutes remaining.
SCU finished with 22 points off turnovers and 20 fast-break points, using their speed and defensive pressure to swing the matchup.
Closing It Out
Late free throws from Goar sealed the win, snapping the long drought against USAO and giving SCU a signature early-season conference victory.
Southwestern Christian now turns its attention to continuing SAC play, riding the momentum of its biggest win in six years.
