Bethany, Okla. — October 4, 2025 — Southwestern Christian University's men's soccer team turned in a strong performance but came up just short, falling 1–0 to Oklahoma City University on Saturday afternoon in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
The match was tightly contested throughout, with both teams displaying physical, defensive soccer. OCU's Ethan Taylor scored the game's only goal in the 45th minute off an assist from Thomas Brulay, putting the visiting Stars ahead just before halftime.
Southwestern Christian (6–2–2, 1–1–1 SAC) outshot Oklahoma City 12–10 and created several chances to equalize, particularly in the second half. Vinicius Cruz led the Eagles with three shots, including two on target, while Gabin Desplats, Louis Dufraiche, and Andre Richardson also applied pressure on the OCU defense.
Goalkeeper Enzo Camps anchored SCU's back line, finishing with four saves in 90 minutes of play. Despite the strong defensive effort, the Eagles couldn't find the back of the net against OCU keeper Alexis Bertrand, who matched Camps with four saves of his own.
The match saw five yellow cards issued—three to SCU and two to OCU—underscoring the intensity of the conference rivalry.
Southwestern Christian will look to rebound and capitalize on its attacking rhythm as SAC competition continues next week.
