Hobbs, N.M. — September 30, 2025 — Southwestern Christian University's women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Battling in the Desert tournament this week at Rockwind Community Links Golf Course in Hobbs, New Mexico. The event featured a competitive NAIA field, with Oklahoma City University capturing the team title after a playoff against Texas Wesleyan.
The Lady Eagles were led by Taylor Frazier, who carded rounds of 87, 81, and 80 to finish at +60 and in 48th place overall. Katie Moore followed closely behind at +63, while Emily Shelton shot +64 and Victoria Wiedel rounded out the team with +65.
Despite tough conditions and strong competition, Southwestern Christian continued to show improvement across the lineup. The team's consistency and perseverance were evident through all three rounds, competing against several nationally ranked programs.
Head Coach praised the team's focus and grit, noting that the experience will be valuable as SCU continues through the fall season.
Southwestern Christian will look to build on this performance in its next outing as the Eagles aim to climb the Sooner Athletic Conference standings.
