Southwestern Christian University women's volleyball battled hard and captured a third-set win but ultimately fell to Oklahoma Panhandle State University, 3–1 (14–25, 11–25, 27–25, 10–25) Wednesday night in Bethany.
After dropping the opening two sets, the Lady Eagles found their rhythm in the third, edging out a dramatic 27–25 victory behind improved attacking and steady defense.
Emery Hulme led SCU with seven kills, while Jovana Perovic added six and Brianna DeVries and Megan Graham each chipped in four. Graham also directed the offense with 10 assists and added four service aces to spark the team's comeback.
Defensively, Meghan Mitchell anchored the back row with 10 digs, and Precious Skinner contributed nine more.
Despite the loss, the Lady Eagles showed resilience, keeping several long rallies alive and posting their best set hitting percentage of the night in the third.
Southwestern Christian dropped to 1–17 overall and 1–14 in Sooner Athletic Conference play, while Panhandle State improved to 12–10 (10–5 SAC). SCU will look to carry its third-set momentum into its next conference matchup.
