Southwestern Christian University women's volleyball struggled to find its rhythm on Saturday afternoon, falling in straight sets (13–25, 11–25, 8–25) to Wayland Baptist University in Sooner Athletic Conference action at Pickens-Springer Gymnasium.
The Lady Eagles fought early in the first set, trading points before Wayland pulled away with a strong offensive attack. SCU was led by Brianna DeVries, who tallied five kills, while Kloe Booker and Jovana Perovic each added three.
Megan Graham paced the offense with nine assists and added six digs, while Meghan Mitchell anchored the defense with nine digs.
Despite the loss, SCU showed energy in spurts, recording five team blocks and battling through several long rallies.
With the setback, Southwestern Christian dropped to 1–18 overall and 1–15 in SAC play, while Wayland Baptist improved to 11–9 and 10–6 in the conference. The Lady Eagles will look to regroup and bounce back in their next home matchup.
