Southwestern Christian University women's volleyball faced a tough test on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to Sooner Athletic Conference leader Texas Wesleyan in straight sets (14–25, 14–25, 11–25) at the Sid Richardson Center.
The Lady Eagles showed flashes of solid play, particularly early in the first and second sets, but the undefeated Rams' efficiency proved too much to overcome.
Margarita Vargas led SCU with 10 kills and a strong .233 hitting percentage, while Brianna DeVries added seven kills and Jovana Perovic chipped in six. Megan Graham paced the offense with 14 assists and contributed five digs.
Defensively, Lisa Gomez tallied a team-high 10 digs, and Kyah Jackson added two block assists at the net.
Despite the loss, Southwestern Christian continued to show offensive balance, recording 27 kills across nine different players.
The Lady Eagles dropped to 2–21 overall and 1–17 in SAC play, while Texas Wesleyan improved to 20–4 (17–0 SAC). SCU will return home looking to regroup as they close out the final stretch of the regular season.
