Southwestern Christian University women's volleyball put together a strong offensive performance but came up short in a competitive four-set match against Arlington Baptist, falling 3–1 (22–25, 15–25, 25–23, 21–25) Thursday afternoon in Texas.
The Lady Eagles showed resilience after dropping the first two sets, rallying to take the third behind efficient attacking and solid serving. Jovana Perovic led SCU with a dominant 16 kills and a .250 hitting percentage, while Margarita Vargas added 12 kills and Brianna DeVries chipped in eight.
Setter Megan Graham had a standout match with 10 kills, 10 assists, and three service aces, recording one of her most complete performances of the season. Lisa Gomez and Meghan Mitchell anchored the defense, combining for 15 digs, while Ashlyn Wilkens and Precious Skinner contributed key assists and blocks at the net.
As a team, Southwestern Christian hit .150, marking one of their most efficient attacking nights of the year.
With the loss, the Lady Eagles fell to 1–19 overall, while Arlington Baptist earned the non-conference win. SCU will return to Sooner Athletic Conference play looking to build on the positives from their strong showing on the road.
