FORT WORTH, Texas — Southwestern Christian University women's soccer extended its strong Sooner Athletic Conference play with a 2–0 victory over Texas Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at Martin Field.
The Lady Eagles (11-2-1, 4-2 SAC) controlled the pace of the match and produced goals in both halves while keeping the Rams off the scoreboard for the full 90 minutes. Goalkeeper Lorelai Puglisi was sharp between the posts, collecting six saves to earn her fourth clean sheet of the season.
SCU broke through early in the 20th minute when defender Nerea Arranz scored her first goal of the season, putting the Lady Eagles up 1–0. In the second half, forward Abbigail Johnson added an insurance goal in the 62nd minute — her team-leading 10th of the year — off an assist from Monse Villacres.
The Lady Eagles outshot the Rams 12–11, with 11 of those shots landing on frame. Johnson led the attack with four shots on goal, while Camryn Miller and Maddie Krone each contributed multiple scoring chances.
SCU's defense, anchored by Arranz, Linda Trugber, and Sofia Ovando, limited Texas Wesleyan's opportunities and stayed disciplined throughout, committing only four fouls and conceding no cards.
With the win, Southwestern Christian improves to 11–2–1 overall and 4–2 in SAC play as the team continues to make a push toward postseason positioning. The Lady Eagles return home next week looking to build on their momentum as the conference schedule winds down.
