Bethany, Okla. - Southwestern Christian University returned home to face a giant in the Langston University Lions tonight, with the game eventually going Langston's way. The final was 68-49, in what was a difficult match from beginning to end.
SCU was ice-cold when shooting in the first half, being held to only 14 points by the Lions defense. However, SCU found some momentum in the second, with the Eagles going from 20% shooting to above 50% from the field and from beyond the arc. However, the deficit was too much for the Eagles, and the comeback attempt fell short as time wound down.
George McCurdy was the spark plug for SCU, knocking down 4 of his 5 attempts from three and totaling 13 points.
Deondre Dunn was right behind him with 12, and
Deuce Kennedy found his shot late, putting up 10 points by the time the game was finished. In a starting role
Chris Fetuga went 50% from the field, while
Michal Wooldridge brought in seven rebounds for SCU.
