Oklahoma City, Okla. - Southwestern Christian took Oklahoma City University to overtime tonight, but fell by three points after one overtime, 83-80. The match was one of SCU's strongest showings, but the win still slipped through the SCU's fingers.
The Eagles were fast out of the gate, putting up a 40 points first half. However, things would slow down in the second, as OCU stormed back to force OT with a 42 point second half. In overtime, SCU put up 12 to OCU's 15, as the Eagles fell to 4-12 on the year.
Deondre Dunn led SCU in points with 20, and was just one rebound shy of a double-double, with 9 rebounds.
George McCurdy's 17 points was good for second-best, and his team-leading 4 assists and 2 steals made him a terror on all sides of the court.
Deuce Kennedy and
Michal Wooldridge both knocked down five from the field for 15 and 12 points, respectively. Wooldridge had 5 rebounds and an assist, while Kennedy had 3 rebounds, an assist, and a steal.Â
Chris Fetuga would eventually foul out of the game, but not before finding 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and a steal with 6 points.
