The Southwestern Christian University Eagles began Sooner Athletic Conference play today against Langston University. The Eagles secured the series win on day one, winning Game 1 9-1 and Game 2 7-4.

Game 1: SCU 9 - 1 LU

SCU got out to an early lead with a 4-run first inning, and maintained their lead throughout the rest of the match. Jalen Durrence went 2-3 with a 2-run homerun, finishing with 3 RBIs in an excellent offensive showing. Jessie Moralez was 2-2 with a solo homerun, and multiple Eagles picked up RBIs, including Addison Hanna and Hannah Keele, who both went 2-3. Keele also picked up a walk and a stolen base. Lauren Schallert earned her first win of the season, giving up only 3 hits through 6 innings, striking out 3, and walking none.

Game 2: SCU 7 - 4 LU

Despite a stronger offensive showing from Langston, SCU kept Game 2 close enough to erupt in the later innings and secure the second win of the day. Madison Jones was 3-3 with 2 RBIs and 1 run, Jessie Moralez was 3-4 with 1 RBI and 2 runs, and Jalen Durrence was 2-4 with 1 RBI and 2 runs. Hannah Keele finished 2-4 with 2 runs and a stolen base 1 of 2 stolen bags in the game, with the other successful steal going to Jones. Harli Clem pitched 7 innings and allowed 9 hits, but was able to strike out 4 batters and forced Langston to strand 7 runners on base en route to the SCU victory.
