The Southwestern Christian University Eagles completed the series sweep over Langston University to secure their first Sooner Athletic Conference series win in the 2024 season.

Game 1: SCU 8 - 0 LU

It only took SCU five innings to run-rule the Lions in Game 1, with the Eagles scoring two runs in the first with a Holly Elam sacrifice fly and Madison Jones RBI single. Mia Farrell would pick up an RBI in the fourth, then Elam, Jones, and Maliyah Patton would all pick up RBIs in the fifth. The Eagles scored another off a wild pitch, and Farrell would force a fielder's choice to grab another RBI, securing the game. Addison Hanna allowed no runs and gave up no walks through five innings, striking out two.

Game 2 went the full seven innings, but SCU had no trouble dispatching the Lions. Danielle Burleson used both her legs and bat to great effect in this game, smacking a 2 RBI double in the second inning, and stole home in the same inning. In the fifth, Hannah Keele drove in one run with a single, Holly Elam drove in two with a single herself, Addison Hanna doubled to center for an RBI, and Aspen Warren knocked in the final run. SCU used three arms in the effort, but Lauren Schallert got the win by tossing four innings, only giving up two hits and one run, striking out one. Harli Clem got the save.

Southwestern Christian University participates in the Friends Tournament in Wichita, Kansas, March 1st and 2nd. The Eagles will play Mayville State University at 1:00 PM to begin the tournament.
