Eagles drop series to USAO

Bethany,OK.-- Southwestern Christian(24-14, 6-9 SAC) could not avoid the doubleheader sweep and drop the series to USAO losing Game one 9-0 and dropping a heartbreaker in Game two 6-5.

Game 1:
USAO would pitch a Three hit shut out on Southwestern Christian, The Drovers would score one run in the first, five in the second and Three in the seventh. Southwestern Christian struggled to get the bats going and three errors did not help the cause as the Drovers took Game two of the series, 9-0.

Game 2: 
The Drovers would break open the 0-0 deadlock with Three runs in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead. Southwestern Christian would respond in the fourth with Tyler Reeves scoring on a wild pitch that saw him take third base on the pitch and due to know one covering home plate would make a break for home and slide in safely on close play to make it 3-1. Science & Arts would add insurance runs, one in the fifth and one in the sixth to give themselves a 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. In the bottom of the sixth, the Eagles would start their late game rally starting with Phoenix Nelson getting a walk with bases load to push across a run for the RBI (5-2), Then a little later Jake Cox would do the same thing, draw a walk with the bases loaded to cut even more into the Drover lead at 5-3. Then a couple at-bats later Joseph Boone would come up big time for SCU as he would hit a double down the right field line to tie up the ball game at 5-5. The Drovers would take the lead in the seventh on a wild pitch to make it 6-5 and in the bottom of the seventh the Eagles could not scratch a run across the plate to force extra innings and lose Game two 6-5 and drop the series two games to one.
