Winfield,KS.--Southwestern Christian(2-0) broke out the brooms on Opening Day against Southwestern College(0-2) taking Game one by a tight score of 8-7 and getting the Run rule in Game two winning 8-0 over the Mound builders. The Eagles offense came to show with 22 hits combined between both games 15 in Game one and seven in Game two.
The Eagles would draw first blood in the top of the third when
Hannah Keele tripled to Center driving in a runner, then
Megan Vess would tally one more run on a SAC fly to Center to make it a two nothing ball game. The Eagles would make it a three zero ballgame when
Hannah Keele would single to center to drive in an Eagle runner. The Mound Builders would have a big fourth inning to take the lead with five runs and make it 5-3 in SWC favor. However the Eagles would respond in the fifth with two runs off a
Addison Hanna and
Carlie Wilson singles to bring the game even at 5 a piece. The Mound Builders would respond with a run in the bottom of the fifth to retake the lead at 6-5. The Eagles would have a seventh inning when
Jessie Moralez would Double to Left with two outs and keep the ball game going,
Mia Farrell would come into pinch run for
Jessie Moralez, she would advance to third on a wild pitch and be only 60 feet away from tying the game,
Lexi Cahwee down to her final strike would hit a triple to Left to tie the game and the Eagles were not done.
Addison Hanna would then double to center and then
Carlie Wilson would single to shallow left center to give the Eagles an 8-6 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. The Mound Builders would scrape one across but could not score the tying run and the Eagles would walk away with Game one with an 8-7 victory.
Harli Clem would get the start for the Eagles, she would pitch 4.2 innings allowing seven hits and despite seeing six runs come across during her tenure only one run was earned, she did pick up one strike out.
Lauren Schallert would get the Win coming in the fifth relieving the starter Clem, she finished with 2.1 innings under her belt allowing one hit and despite seeing a run come across during her tenure it was unearned.

Game 2:
SCU would draw first blood on a ground out that scores a run in the first for a 1-0 lead. In the Third
Megan Vess would single to Right Center and drive in two eagle runners to make it 3-0 ball game. The Eagles would have a five run fifth inning,
Megan Vess would start the scoring with a Double to Right Center scoring one runner, and
Addison Hanna would single to Shallow left to score another making 5-0, Brown would then single in the infield while the bases were loaded and drives in a run, 6-0.
Alys Parr would get a free pass to first on a walk with bases jacked making it 7-0, Then
Sarafina Youngblood would score on a Wild pitch making it 8-0 and reaching the Run Rule total. The Eagles pitching staff would shutout the Mound Builders in the bottom half of the fifth and win the game by Run Rule 8-0.
Lauren Schallert would get the start and the Dub giving her a 2-0 record to start the season, she pitched 4 innings allowing four hits, no runs and five strikeouts.
Elisha Stilwell would get the relief duty in the duty to shut the barn door and go home, she would pitch just the one, giving up no hits and no runs in the relief effort.

The Eagles return to Dolese Park on Feb. 17 at Noon for a Doubleheader and their Home opener against Crowley's Ridge College and looking to extend their undefeated season a little further just one game at a time.
