Sterling, Kan.--Southwestern Christian(2-2) went to sterling and played a full 90 minutes of dominating soccer to Rout Sterling College(1-5-2) in a 7-1 Rout, which saw one SCU player end the match with a Hat-trick and another player get a brace for the game.
The Eagles from SCU were ready to take action Saturday firing off 25 shots in the match. Sterling was able to get the first score when a Warrior connected in the 4th minute. From that point on it was all SCU. The Eagles answered the lone Warrior goal with a Goal in the 10th minute by Juan Anselmi would score second and third goal on the campaign in the 10th for the Equalizer and 22nd for the Game-Winner for a Brace, Cameron Ashby would check in to the scoring effort for his first of three in the Hat-Trick performance in 39th minute and make it a 3-1 game, Alejandro Sainz got a piece of pie notching his first goal of the 2022 campaign in the 40th minute, SCU would have a 4-1 advantage over Sterling at the break.
The second half saw more of the same as SCU scored three more goals in the half. Nykoaba James would also notch his name in the Goal column in the 56th minute to increase the advantage to 5-1 over the Warriors. Cameron Ashby was not done in this game he would score in the 85th and 88th minutes to complete the Hat-trick and seal the domination win over the Sterling Warriors,7-1.
Southwestern Christian returns to action on the road in McPherson,KS on September 28th at 5:30pm against Central Christian for more Sooner Athletic Conference action.
