Game 1:
Offense was the name of the game as 3 combined Home Runs were hit by both teams, The scoring was opened up with a 3 Run Homer by Central Christian. The Score would remain 3-0 up until the 4th inning when CCCK would add some cushion to their lead with one-run double by the Tigers, to make the lead 4-0. SCU would get a run back with a
Britney Czelusniak Homerun in the 4th Inning to cut the lead to 4-1. In the 5th Inning, Southwestern Christian would tack on a two more runs on 2 errors by CCCK, to pull within in one, CCCK stills lead 3-4. Central Christian would cut the SCU rally with a 6th Inning Homerun by CCCK, to make the lead 3-5. Going into the Bottom of the 6th,
Nevaeh Daniel, would score
Sarafina Youngblood on a SAC Fly to Right Field, to cut the lead Central lead back to one at 4-5.Sadly Central Christian would kill SCU late Rally with two runs in the Top of the 7th inning, to add cushion to their lead at 7-4 and shut out SCU in the bottom Half of the 7th to take Game one.
Harley Clem gets here first loss on the season, it just seemed today she left the ball just a little bit to much over the plate as CCCK 6 Earned Runs on 11 Hits off of Clem. Harley however did get 9 K's in the complete game performance as she tossed all 7 innings for the Eagles in the Loss. SCU moves to 2-1 on the season and 0-1 in Conference play after Game one.
Game 2:
Pitching was the Star of Game 2, as this game was completely dominated by pitching for both squads. Just like the First game Central Christina opened the game with two runs in the Top of the 2nd Inning off of 2 Errors committed by SCU, to give them the early lead 0-2. Southwestern Christian would respond with two runs of their own in the Bottom of the 2nd, first run came off of a
Holly Elam Groundout that scored
Maliyah Patton from third base, and the Game-tying run came off a Central Christian Wild pitch that scored
Jordan Bullock. the score would remain 2-2 all the way up into the Bottom of the 5th Inning. In the 5th Inning,
Nevaeh Daniel would Give SCU a one run lead with a BOMB over the Left Field Fence to make it 3-2 SCU game, going into the 6th inning. All chances in the last two innings were shut down by the SCU starter
Elisha Stilwell as she pitched a phenomenal game for the Eagles, her final stat line was, 7 IP, 6 K's, 0 Earned Runs, 1 BB, 3 Hits. In Game 2 the Central Christian Offense was completely shut down by Stilwell performance.
Southwestern Christian returns to action on the Road, Tuesday, February 15th, at 1:00 PM for a Doubleheader against #2 Oklahoma City(5-0) for another Early season Sooner Athletic Conference Matchup.
