Eagles rout John Brown

(Bethany,Okla.)--The Lady Eagles rout the Golden Eagles. 67-52, to take the season series and with this win look to make a late season push in the SAC standings.John Brown shot 19-45 from the Field about 42%, 10-22 from three (46%) and 4-8 shooting from the Free Throw Line about 50%. SCU Defense was stout and forced tough shots and got nine steals on the night. The Eagles were able to get 23 pts off of forcing 16 Turnovers which helped lead to the win. Thamires Andrade led the The Eagles with 4 steals.

The Lady Eagles Offense also had a good showing today, as they shot 25-64 from the Floor (39%), SCU shot 2-14 from three (14%) and from the Free throw line shot 15-17 (88%). Thamires Andrade led the SCU Lady Eagles in scoring with 17 pts. The Bench helped also contributed 10 pts to the Winning effort, Gillian Snowder came off the Bench and Finished her night with 8pts and 4 Rebs The Lady Eagles did Out-Rebound the Lady Trailblazers 43-20. SCU had 20 Offensive rebounds in the game which led to 21 second chance points for the SCU offense. The Lady Eagles also moved the Ball really well tonight getting 11 assist in the Game. Abbey Phibbs led the team with 8 assist. The big stat for the SCU Offense was 30 points in the paint.

The Senior Thamires Andrade had a big Offensive night with 6-16 shooting, 1-5 from beyond the arc and 4-4 from the Free Throw Line, Her Final stat line is 17 pts, 6 Rebs, 2 Ast, 4 Stl. Junior Abbey Phibbs also contributed to the Offensive effort with 4-5 shooting from the field and 5-5 from the Charity Strike, Her Final stat line was 13 pts,3 Rebs, 8 Ast. Christina Jenkins and Lauren Wade
for the Second time this season, SCU had two Eagles get Double-Doubles, Both finished with 10 pts and 12 Rebs a piece.

The Lady Eagles will return to action on the Road on Saturday, February 12th at 2:00pm, they will play cross-town Rival Oklahoma City(14-10,9-10 SAC) to continue their Winning streak and make a late push upwards in the SAC standings as the season is winding down and the SAC tournament is just over the Horizon.
