Eagles Rout Patriots on Homecoming Day

Bethany,OK.-- Southwestern Christian(3-1) dominated both halves of Basketball last night which saw nearly all SCU players end the game in the pts column, beating Arlington Baptist 93-46. Arlington Baptist shot 17 of 64 from the field(27%). Da'Vione Stafford was the leading scorer for the Patriots shooting 5-15 from the field and ending the game with 16 pts. The Eagles defensively ended the night with 9 steals and 9 Blocks, Jack Foreman led the Eagles with three steals and big man Jonathan Baruti was a big presence on the defensive end with six blocks on the night.

Southwestern Christian ended the game shooting 37-65(57%) from the floor, while shooting 10 of 28(36%) from beyond the Arc, SCU shot 9-14(64%) from the Charity strike. The Bench of SCU contributed 59 pts to the effort out performing the Arlington Baptist bench by +29 margin. Robert Chapman being the top scorer coming off the bench. Southwestern Christian out-rebounded the Patriots by a +20 advantage, (46-26 SCU), SCU had more second chance points over Arlington Baptist (9-6). Luiz Machado Jr. lead SCU with seven assists and SCU ended the night with 25 assist overall. The Big Stat for SCU was 50 pts in the paint and 25 pts off of turnovers.

Shawn Hopkins led the scoring for SCU with 14 pts, 4 Rebs,& 2 BLKs, he shot 6-7 from the floor, 1-1 from beyond the Arc and 1-1 from the Charity strike. Bralen Patterson finished the night with 13 pts, 3 Rebs, & 1 BLK. Robert Chapman finished the night with 10 pts, 3 Ast, 2 Reb, & 2 Stls.

Southwestern Christian returns to action at Home in Pickens-Springer Gymnasium in Bethany,OK on November 17th at 7:00 PM against Central Christian for Sooner Athletic Conference opener and more SCU Men's Basketball
