Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Eagles return from "No Man's Land" with Win over OPSU

Goodwell,OK.-- Southwestern Christian(5-2-3, 3-0-2 SAC) walked into "No Man's Land" and left with a Dub in hand, beating OPSU(2-6-1,0-5 SAC) 3-2 to push their Unbeaten Streak to Seven in a row and now move into Third place in the SAC standings, just two points under the #1 team MACU and one point under OCU.

SCU would start the scoring right out the gate in the fourth minute with a Goal by Kodai Tenaka to give the Eagles an early 1-nil lead, six shots a piece were taken in the first half and going into the break SCU would hold the one-nil advantage over OPSU. Southwestern Christian would add to their advantage in the 49th minute by Liam Brag to put SCU up two-nil, but the Aggies would not go quietly in the 64th minute, OPSU would cut the lead back to one, with a Goal of their own to make it two-one still in favor for SCU, and in less than a minute SCU's Liam Brag would score a Brace for the day in the 65th and technically this Goal would be his fourth goal in two games and put SCU back up two by a score of 3-1. Again the Aggies were not finished, another minute passed by into the 66th and OPSU would respond with a Goal to move it back to a one score game at 3-2 but SCU put up a stout defense and with a good mix of quality of GK would keep the score at 3-2 until Full time.

SCU would have 13 shots on the day with four on Goal, while the Aggies had 14 shots with five on Goal. OPSU would have the advantage in Corners by a margin of +4 over SCU, (7-3 Corners). Salvatore Della Vella would have three saves on the day.

Southwestern Christian returns to action on the Road in Oklahoma City,OK on October 18th at 7:00pm against Oklahoma City University for more Sooner Athletic Conference action.
