Lady Eagles Fall short in tough match against #2 Wayland Baptist

Plainview,TX.--Southwestern Christian(3-1, 0-1 SAC) fell in a tough bout to the highly touted #2 ranked Flying Queens(7-0,1-0 SAC). The Queens shot 24-56 from the Field about %, 6-19 from three (32%) and also had a tough time at the Charity strike shooting 11-19 about 58%.The Queens forced had 22 pts off of Turnovers and that is what helped the Queens keep the Lady Eagles at bay.

The Lady Eagles Offense also had a decent showing today, as they shot 22-53 from the Floor (41%). They did improve shooting from beyond the arc, SCU shot 9-24 from three (37%) and from the Free throw line shot 2-4 (50%). Thamires Andrade led the SCU Lady Eagles in scoring with 14 pts. The Bench contributed 17 pts in tough Loss. The Lady Eagles tied the Queens in Rebounds at 35 a piece. SCU had 9 Offensive rebounds in the game which led to 8 second chance pts for the SCU offense.  The Eagles had a tough time getting on the fast break which is a big part of their game, they only scored 6 fast break points on the night.

The Senior Thamires Andrade shot 7-19 from the Field, she finished the game with 14 pts, 7 Rebs, 1 Ast. Junior Tresha Yager also contributed to the Offensive effort with 4-7 shooting all from beyond the arc, Her Final stat line was 12 pts, 2 Rebs, 2 Ast, 1 Stl. Kea Mays finished with 9 pts, Gillian Snowder and Kaitin Taylor both finished with 5 pts. Coach Mark Arthur had this to say after the game, "Proud of our team and there effort. Had our chances down 4 points with 2 min to play. Need to make plays on both sides of the ball late in games." 

The Lady Eagles will return to action on the Road on Saturday, November 20th,at 2:00pm against the Lady Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State, another early SAC matchup in Goodwell,OK.
