Juan De Dios Castillo enters his sixth season as head coach at Southwestern Christian University.
In his first season with SCU, Castillo led the women's soccer program to their best season in program history. The team racked up 4 conference wins and finished in 6th place in the SAC. They would also travel to Siloam Springs, Ark. and come back with a draw against top-ranked John Brown.
A record two Eagles were named to the All-Sooner Athletic Conference soccer team, as well as six Eagles named to the All-NCCAA Central Region team.
Prior to his arrival at SCU, Castillo served as head women's soccer coach at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Okla.
During his tenure at NOC, Castillo's teams finished with a record of 35-4-2 while being ranked as high as No. 3 in the National Junior College Athletic Association rankings.
Castillo was raised in Mexico where his father, Juan De Dios Castillo Gonzalez, played professionally and for the Mexican National Team. He father also had a distinguished career coaching in the professional ranks in Mexico and Honduras as well as coaching at the International level for El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico.
As a player, Castillo was a member of the U20 Mexican National Team. He also played for Pumas UNAM, Queretaro and Santos Laguna all currently of Liga MX.
Castillo, who holds a master's degree in dentistry, and his wife, Cheyenne(24 Years), reside in Edmond, Okla., with their two sons Ethan and Enzo. The family relocated to Tulsa in 2011 from Monterey, Mexico, where Castillo still owns a dental practice.
