COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Southwestern Christian University women's soccer team battled Stephens College to a 0-0 draw Saturday afternoon at Battle Stadium, keeping the Eagles unbeaten through the opening four matches of the 2026 season.
SCU entered the contest with a 3-0 record and remained unbeaten following a hard-fought 90-minute battle with Stephens, which entered the match at 2-1-1. Neither team was able to find the back of the net despite several opportunities throughout the match.
The Eagles controlled much of the offensive pressure, finishing the match with 11 shots, including five on target. Stephens recorded seven shots with two on goal. SCU also held an advantage in corner kicks, earning seven compared to six for Stephens.
Abbigail Johnson led the Eagles' attack with three shots on goal on three total attempts. Hadley McLanahan added two shots, including one on frame, while Alexandrea Villalobos recorded three shots and one shot on goal.
The Eagles generated several quality chances late in the match. In the 70th minute, Rachel Slaven struck the crossbar, narrowly missing an opportunity to put SCU ahead. Slaven later added another shot in the 82nd minute.
SCU continued to pressure the Stephens defense in the closing minutes. Johnson put two more shots on goal in the 83rd minute, but Stephens goalkeeper Petra Brncova turned both attempts away to preserve the shutout.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Lorelai Puglisi played all 90 minutes and recorded a clean sheet as the Eagles limited Stephens to just two shots on goal.
The scoreless draw moves SCU to 3-0-1 overall on the season. The Eagles will continue their 2026 campaign looking to maintain their unbeaten start.
