SAN ANTONIO, Texas — September 21, 2026 — Southwestern Christian University men's soccer continued its strong start to the season Monday evening, earning a 4-2 road victory over Our Lady of the Lake University.

The Eagles improved to 5-0-1 on the season with the win, overcoming an early deficit and scoring twice in each half to secure the victory.

Our Lady of the Lake struck first in the fourth minute when Marouane Rouggani found the back of the net to give the Saints an early 1-0 advantage. SCU quickly answered, however, with Charles Jones scoring in the 12th minute off an assist from Augustine Mateos to level the match at 1-1.

The Eagles continued to apply pressure and took their first lead of the night in the 27th minute. Marcos Arranz scored off another assist from Mateos, giving SCU a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime.

SCU extended its lead early in the second half. Gabin Desplats converted a penalty kick in the 61st minute to push the Eagles ahead 3-1.

The Saints responded several minutes later when Kevin Zamora scored in the 65th minute, cutting the SCU advantage to 3-2 and setting up a tense final 25 minutes.

The Eagles' defense held strong as the Saints attempted to find an equalizer. With just under two minutes remaining, Desplats delivered the final blow, scoring his second goal of the match in the 89th minute to seal the 4-2 SCU victory.

Desplats finished with two goals, while Jones and Arranz each added a goal. Mateos recorded two assists in the victory.

SCU controlled much of the offensive action, finishing with a 21-13 advantage in shots and a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Eagles goalkeeper Axel Tricot made four saves while allowing two goals.

The Eagles return to action with their record now standing at 5-0-1 on the season.
