FORT WORTH, Texas — The Southwestern Christian University softball team came away with one win in a tough four-game road series against Texas Wesleyan at Sycamore Park, as the Eagles fell in three of the four contests.
Game 1 – SCU 5, Texas Wesleyan 1
The Eagles opened the series with a strong performance, defeating Texas Wesleyan 5–1 behind a complete game from pitcher Lainey King.
SCU tied the game in the third inning when Jessie Moralez drove in Hannah Keele with an RBI single. The Eagles pulled away in the fifth as Ebony Garza tripled to bring home a run before Sabrina Gilbert and Trinity Norwood added RBI hits to extend the lead.
Keele paced the offense with three hits and three runs scored, while Norwood added three hits and an RBI. King allowed just one run on six hits across seven innings to secure the win.
Game 2 – Texas Wesleyan 12, SCU 4
Texas Wesleyan evened the series in the second game, using a big offensive performance to earn a 12–4 victory.
The Rams broke the game open in the second inning with six runs, highlighted by a grand slam from Kylie Barnes. Barnes finished with two home runs and eight RBIs in the game.
Southwestern Christian mounted a rally in the fourth inning when Jessie Moralez hit a two-run double and Trinity Norwood followed with a two-run home run to cut the deficit to 9–4, but the Rams added three more runs to seal the win.
Game 3 – Texas Wesleyan 12, SCU 4
The Rams continued their momentum in the third game of the series, building an early lead and maintaining control throughout.
Texas Wesleyan scored two runs in the first inning and added four more in the second to jump ahead early. SCU responded in the fourth inning when Moralez doubled in two runs and Norwood again went deep with a two-run homer to briefly spark the Eagles' offense.
However, Texas Wesleyan's offense proved too much, as the Rams piled up 12 hits and added late runs to secure another 12–4 victory.
Game 4 – Texas Wesleyan 8, SCU 7 (9 Innings)
The series finale was the closest game of the weekend, but Texas Wesleyan walked off with an 8–7 win in extra innings.
SCU struck first with two runs in the opening inning when Danielle Burleson drove in both runs with a double. The Eagles continued to battle throughout the game, highlighted by a solo home run from Trinity Norwood and an RBI double from Kylah Daniel.
After tying the game multiple times, SCU pushed across a run in the ninth to take a 7–6 lead. Texas Wesleyan responded in the bottom of the inning with a two-run double to complete the walk-off victory.

Despite the series loss, the Eagles showed resilience throughout the weekend and will look to regroup as they continue their season in upcoming conference matchups.
