The Southwestern Christian University baseball team delivered an offensive showcase Tuesday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader against Randall University in Moore, Oklahoma. The Eagles combined for 31 runs and 30 hits across the two games, earning dominant victories of 18–1 and 13–2.
Game 1: Eagles Explode for 18 Runs
Southwestern Christian wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the opener. After Nate Anderson reached base and moved into scoring position, Eliam Dudamel lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home the first run before Dario Paredes launched a two-run home run to give the Eagles an early 3–0 lead.
Randall briefly cut the deficit to 3–1 in the second inning, but SCU responded with a massive third inning. The Eagles plated seven runs in the frame highlighted by RBI hits from Dominic Ornelas, Elvis Rojas, Braden Browning, Dudamel, and a two-run double by Royce Florenzano.
Southwestern Christian continued to pile on runs throughout the game, adding five in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth before closing out the contest with an 18–1 victory.
Paredes led the offensive surge, finishing 3-for-4 with six RBIs, including the early home run. Dudamel also had three hits and two RBIs, while O'Malley, Ornelas, and Rojas each contributed multiple hits.
On the mound, Jacob Hogan earned the win after allowing just one run over four innings, and Miguel DeJesus closed out the game with three scoreless innings.
Game 2: Big Seventh Inning Secures Sweep
The second game of the doubleheader remained scoreless until the fourth inning when the Eagles erupted for five runs to take control. Dominic Ornelas delivered a two-run double, and Nate Anderson added an RBI single to extend the lead.
Randall cut the deficit to 5–2 in the fifth, but SCU responded with a run in the sixth and a decisive seven-run seventh inning. The inning was highlighted by a three-run home run from Paredes that pushed the Eagles' lead to double digits.
Anderson led the Eagles offensively, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Paredes again starred with three hits and three RBIs. Aiden O'Malley also added three hits as SCU finished with 14 hits in the 13–2 win.
Tyler Stelly earned the victory on the mound, pitching five innings and allowing two runs while striking out five. Mason Branch closed the game with two scoreless innings in relief.
