BETHANY, Okla. — Southwestern Christian University women's soccer continued its unbeaten start to the season with a commanding 7-0 win over Sterling College on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles moved to 5-0-1 overall, while Sterling dropped to 2-3.
The Eagles wasted no time taking control, striking three times in the opening half. Rachel Foster opened the scoring in the 16th minute with her first goal of the season, assisted by Shosona Graham. Just four minutes later, Riley Stanfill doubled the lead, again off Graham's setup, before adding her second goal before halftime to give SCU a 3-0 cushion.
Southwestern Christian kept its foot on the gas in the second half. Payton Donnell scored in the 59th minute, followed by Graham finding the net herself to make it 5-0. Katelyn Fisher added another in the 76th minute off a Stanfill assist, and Abbigail Johnson capped the scoring in the 85th minute with help from Hannah Raska.
The Eagles completely controlled the match, outshooting Sterling 27-1, including 11 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Lorelai Puglisi faced little danger but secured the clean sheet. Graham starred with a goal and three assists, while Stanfill added two goals and an assist.
With the dominant performance, Southwestern Christian showed its offensive depth and defensive discipline, keeping momentum strong heading into the heart of the season.
