Southwestern Christian University volleyball opened its 2025 season on Saturday, August 30, with a pair of challenging contests against MidAmerica Nazarene and Tabor College.
In their season opener, the Lady Eagles fell 3–1 to MidAmerica Nazarene, showing resilience by taking the third set 25–19 before dropping the fourth 25–13. Emery Hulme led the offense with 12 kills, while Nia Peebles added five kills and three block assists. Setter Ashlyn Wilkens paced the team with 23 assists and 12 digs.

Despite the 0–2 start, Southwestern Christian showed moments of strong play and will look to build on its early-season experience as the schedule continues.Later that morning, SCU faced Tabor College on the road in Hillsboro, Kansas, but dropped the match in straight sets (25–14, 25–23, 25–20).Â
Margarita Vargas Neira and Alejandra Acuña each provided offensive sparks with four and three kills respectively, while Brianna DeVries chipped in two service aces. Defensively, the Eagles were led by libero Lisa Gomez Lopez with 11 digs.
