Bethany, Okla. — August 23, 2025 — Southwestern Christian University's men's soccer team showed fight and resilience but came up short in a 3–0 loss to Midland University on Saturday afternoon.
Midland struck early, with Hugo Garcia-Rosado Duran scoring in the 3rd and 19th minutes to give the Warriors a quick 2–0 advantage. A late first-half own goal extended Midland's lead to 3–0 heading into halftime.
Despite the deficit, the Eagles regrouped and controlled much of the second half. SCU generated 14 total shots and 13 corner kicks, putting consistent pressure on the Midland defense. Alberto Guerrero and Augustine Mateos were among the most active attackers, combining for multiple shots on goal, while goalkeeper Enzo Camps recorded two saves against a disciplined Midland side.
With the result, Southwestern Christian moves to 1–1 on the season. The Eagles will look to bounce back and build on their attacking momentum in their next matchup.
