SCU Dominant in Victory Over Saints

Bethany, Okla. -

The Southwestern Christian University Eagles secured a dominant 19-1 victory against the Randall University Saints on March 4, 2025, at Putnam City High. This non-conference triumph highlights the Eagles' impressive skills across the board, from solid pitching to powerful hitting.

The Eagles set the tone early, amassing four runs in the first inning on the strength of a home run by Draike Sparks, part of his significant contribution that included multiple RBIs in the game. Southwestern Christian did not relent, extending their lead with seven more runs in the fifth inning alone, ensuring their victory was never in doubt. Sparks, Gregory Berroa, Jhors Gomez, Dario Paredes, Joseph Boone, Jake Cox, Kyler Ayres, and James Folsom all crossed home plate in this offensive feast. Berroa, in particular, crossed the plate multiple times, highlighting the depth of talent within the team.

Alexis Hurens started as the pitcher, setting up a strong foundation for the game and claiming the win, boosting his season record to 1-0. His performance, coupled with strategic plays like Cox's base-stealing prowess and Gomez hitting noteworthy doubles, played a pivotal role in the day's success.

With this victory, the Eagles now hold a promising season record of 17-6. Looking ahead, they are scheduled to face Central Christian College in McPherson, Kansas, on March 8, 2025. The team hopes to carry the momentum from this significant win into the forthcoming challenges.
