Eagles sweep Royals

Springdale, AR. -

Game 1

In an impressive display of softball, the Southwestern Christian University Eagles decisively defeated the Ecclesia Royals with a stunning final score of 19-5 on February 28, 2025. The non-conference game, hosted in Springdale, Arkansas, highlighted the Eagles' dominant performance this season.

From the opening innings, the Eagles established a strong lead, capitalizing on their aggressive batting and strategic base running. The team was led by standout performances from multiple players, including Hannah Keele, who dazzled the crowd with four hits, a triple, and a double. Trinity Norwood, Holly Elam, Lexi Cahwee, Shakyrah Gladness, Madison Jones, Danielle Burleson, Aamiyah Roberson, and Maliyah Patton also contributed significantly, each marking runs that stacked the odds in their favor.

Keele, Elam, Cahwee, Jones, and Burleson were crucial in driving in runs, ensuring the Eagles' scoreboard kept ticking over. Starting pitcher Jessica Czikra (5-1) delivered a commendable performance, keeping the Royals' hitters at bay and contributing to her team's solid defensive efforts.

The game was not without its highlights for Ecclesia, as Alexis Williams smashed a home run, providing a moment of celebration for the Royals. However, it wasn't enough to shift the momentum significantly.

With this victory, Southwestern Christian advances their record to 7-4, promising a hopeful trajectory for the upcoming games. The Eagles' blend of skilled hitting, speedy base running, and strategic pitching paints them as a formidable team in the college softball landscape.

Game 2

In a triumphant display of skill and teamwork, the Southwestern Christian University Eagles soared to a commanding 14-1 victory over the Ecclesia Royals in a non-conference softball event held in Springdale, Arkansas on February 28, 2025. The Eagles' impressive performance was marked by robust batting and strategic plays that left their mark throughout the game.

From the initial innings, the Eagles established an unyielding lead, primarily fueled by standout performances from Trinity Norwood and Lexi Cahwee. Norwood had an exceptional day at bat, securing 3 hits, 3 runs, and contributing a significant 3 RBIs, while Cahwee was equally impressive with her 2 hits and team-high 4 RBIs. Both players also contributed massively with a home run each, setting a powerful tone early in the game. Notably, Cahwee's home run in the first inning drove in teammates Hannah Keele and Norwood, swiftly putting the Eagles in a favorable position. Norwood replicated this success with another home run in the second inning, further amplifying their lead.

Several other players also stepped up during the game, including Madison Jones, Danielle Burleson, Payton Leba, Aamiyah Roberson, and Maliyah Patton, all of whom crossed the plate, while others like Lainey King, starting as pitcher, played critical roles in controlling the game's pace and minimizing the opponent's scoring opportunities.

With this win, the Southwestern Christian University Eagles have improved their season record to 8-4. Looking forward, the Eagles will face Dallas Christian College on March 5, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Building on their current momentum, the team is poised for continued success as they hope to maintain their winning form in upcoming fixtures.
