KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Southwestern Christian Women's Soccer closed out a historic postseason run on Friday, making the program's first-ever appearance in the NCCAA National Championship match during what was their second overall trip to the National Tournament. The Eagles fell 3–0 to Bethel University at the Austin-Tindall Sports Complex but capped their season with one of the most significant achievements in school history.
SCU produced nine shots in the title match, with opportunities coming from Monse Villacres, Camryn Miller, Katelyn Fisher, and Abbi Johnson, who continued her strong tournament presence with three attempts on goal. Shosona Graham added two shots off the bench, helping SCU push forward in the second half.
Goalkeeper Lorelai Puglisi recorded three saves while facing a persistent Bethel attack. SCU weathered early pressure, regrouped at halftime, and fought for chances until the final whistle.
Though the championship match ended in defeat, the Eagles' journey to finals day marked a defining moment for the program. SCU finished the season 14-7-2 and elevated the standard for future teams by advancing further into the national tournament than any squad before them.
Southwestern Christian leaves Florida proud—having reached new heights, earned national respect, and written a landmark chapter in program history.
