ANCHOR D ARENA, Nov. 8, 2025 – Southwestern Christian University's men's basketball team came up short on Saturday afternoon, falling 78–67 to Southwest despite several strong individual efforts and a competitive first half.
The Eagles (now 2–1 on the season) trailed by only two points at halftime, 36–34, after a solid stretch led by Jordun Willard, who sparked the offense with 8 first-half points and several key defensive plays. Elijah Garcia also came off the bench to hit two three-pointers in the opening period, keeping SCU within striking distance.
In the second half, JaColby Williams heated up with 10 of his 12 points, including a pair of three-pointers that briefly gave the Eagles a lead early in the period. Michal Wooldridge added 9 points and continued to contribute steady minutes in the frontcourt, while his brother Lukas Wooldridge chipped in 5 points and 4 rebounds.
Despite their efforts, the Eagles struggled to find consistency from beyond the arc, shooting just 21.9% (7-for-32) from three-point range. Turnovers also proved costly, with 16 giveaways leading to 15 points for the opposition.
The SCU bench provided a bright spot, contributing 35 points, including 12 from Garcia and 10 from Willard. Kameron Burris added 7 points and 2 steals in his 20 minutes of play.
Head coach's squad battled until the final minutes but couldn't overcome Southwest's strong inside presence and rebounding edge (44–35).
With the nonconference matchup now behind them, Southwestern Christian will look to regroup as they prepare for their next contest and aim to bounce back from their first loss of the season.
